Patient Service Associate

Position Overview: As a Patient Access Associate, you will demonstrate accountability, accuracy and effective communication skills relative to departmental goals. To help achieve our mission, your use of financial counseling and insurance verification skill sets will be essential.Identifying and communicating payer authorizations and referral requirements is required. Determining patient financial responsibility and notifying patients and/or guardians, when necessary, is of vital importance. APPLY TODAY!!
salary: $18 - $21 per hourshift: Second
work hours: 3 PM - 11:30 PM

Responsibilities- Explain insurance benefits and patient liability by using appropriate communication
- Apply knowledge of online payer verification systems to obtain and validate insurance information on a timely and accurate basis
- Coordinate with other departments to assist or transport patients/visitors requiring special attention/support
- Interview patients to secure and document required medical, financial, demographic and insurance information
- Educate and assist patients with the completion/submission of applications for alternative sources of payment for healthcare services
- Report safety hazards/violations and take appropriate action to protect the environment and guests
- Communicate scheduling changes to patients, staff, physicians and patient representatives in a timely and professional manner
Requirements:
- 1+ year of customer service or medical office ecperience
- HS Diploma or GED
- Epic Experience (preferred)
Schedule: 3pm to 11:30pm
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS (Every Other Weekend)
