Job Overview:

• The Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) will be responsible for ensuring the effective decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. The role requires the ability to rotate between the hospital and the ambulatory surgery center as assigned by department leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sterilize endoscopic instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols.
• Decontaminate surgical tools using manual or automated cleaning processes, ensuring all instruments are safe for use.
• Assemble instrument sets according to specifications, ensuring all components are in proper working order before sterilization.
• Perform biological monitoring and ensure accurate sterilization processes.
• Maintain the sterile environment, preparing instruments and equipment for distribution.

Requirements:

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years working in Sterile Processing
• At least 2 years of travel experience in Sterile Processing Tech roles

Certifications:

• Certified in Sterile Processing and Endoscopy
• National Certification (HSPA or CBSPD)

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in all areas of Central Sterile Reprocessing (CSR), including Endoscopy, Decontamination, Assembly, Biologicals/Sterilization, and the Sterile Room.
