Director of Digital Content Strategy

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the entire digital content creation process, from ideation to publication, for the Einstein website.
  • Work closely with the Director of Interactive Media and Executive Director of Communications and Public Affairs to create the architecture/navigational structure of the Einstein website and intranet as it transitions to Ellucian.
  • Write and/or edit content for a variety of audiences, including current and prospective students, faculty, postdoctoral fellows, leadership, and staff. Includes materials for academic, research, education, and administrative departments and offices.
  • Work closely with Director of Communications and Executive Director to establish appropriate tone and style for digital products.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Dean for Information Technologies and staff to develop and implement appropriate “cards” and webpages on the Ellucian platform.
  • Create compelling content across multiple sites to tell the Einstein story, ensuring its unique brand, mission, and values are reflected.
  • Establish processes to ensure web content remains accurate, up-to-date, and relevant. Regularly audit existing content, developing an editorial calendar for recurring and/or known changes.
  • Work with departmental leadership to identify needs for new content and organization, prioritizing those that align with the department and/or institutional strategic goals; proactively suggest areas of focus.
  • Work effectively with senior leadership and staff at Einstein to evaluate existing content, explain digital content strategy principles, and shape new content.
  • Guide content production based on SEO and principles of user experience
  • Determine and measure essential KPIs and metrics for content performance. Work with Google Analytics and other tools. Determine appropriate metrics to track. Work with outside agency to set up dashboards as needed.
  • Participate in the development of other digital products as directed by the Executive Director of Communications and Public Affairs.
  • Manage freelancers as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ degree
  • 5-7+ years working in communications, web, or marketing teams, departments or agencies
  • Prior work in an academic medical or research institution, educational institution, or related non-profit a plus
  • History of effectively managing freelancers
  • This position reports directly to the Director of Interactive Media, with a dotted line to the Director of Communications
  • Interact directly with faculty members and administration
  • Work with counterpart(s) at Montefiore Marketing

Minimum Salary Range: USD $135,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary Range: USD $150,000.00/Yr.
