Overview:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Regional Sales Manager - North directs all field sales activities within the respective sales region. This position recommends staffing and supervises training for field sales personnel; manages the regional sales force to meet or exceed company objectives as well as make recommendations regarding sales policies, pricing, sales quotas, territories, distribution, and compensation; develops short-term and long-term regional sales objectives and assists in developing sales forecast data.

This position may be located anywhere in the Northeast US.

Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned
  • Supervise the regional sales organization
  • Ensure the Sales Team meets sales objectives (profitability, expense control, revenue, product mix)
  • Generate sales estimates and quotations
  • Coordinate procedures for soliciting, bidding, and execution of contract sales
  • Perform market research and planning
  • Assist in trade show selection and workforce requirements
  • Perform oral and written presentation as needed
  • Assist in new sales hires training
  • Conduct performance reviews on direct reports

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of industrial and/or packaging sales experience
  • Industrial or product background preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of pressure sensitive tapes highly desirable
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Prior sales management experience desired
  • Ability to work with minimum of supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with coworkers who possess various personalities
  • Ability to work well with the public
  • Ability to handle stress
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to travel at least 75% of the time

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment.

Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion.

  • Extensive overnight travel is required
  • Flexible; willing to work long hours
