Knowledge Management Attorney (Real Estate)
Overview:
We are seeking a talented Knowledge Management Attorney (Real Estate) to deliver efficiency, innovation, and legal service to our team. In the Real Estate practice group, a Knowledge Management Attorney plays a key role in organizing and leveraging legal knowledge, precedents, and technology to support attorneys in providing top-tier client service.This role is responsible for developing and managing knowledge resources, streamlining workflows, and ensuring attorneys have access to the latest insights, and best practices in real estate law.
Responsibilities:
This new role will report to, and work collaboratively with, the partners in Milbank’s Real Estate practice to increase efficiency and excellence across deal work and client services including by elevating data collection processes to support consistent and up-to-date work product, maintaining searchable catalogs of reference materials and precedent, and servicing the general Knowledge Management needs of the Real Estate department.
Candidates must have significant experience in Commercial Real Estate practice or a closely-related practice area, and have a strong background in the substantive law in this field. The Knowledge Management Attorney – Real Estate will catalog, curate, and track a variety of information in support of the Real Estate practice, including: term sheets, intercreditor agreements, foreign loan documents, joint ventures, datacenter lease terms/matrix, commercial mortgage-backed securities, UCC filings, general form documents, etc.Candidates should have proficiency with Microsoft Excel, version control and document management systems, and database systems.
This position offers remote work flexibility, regular hours, and interesting work for a highly experienced (and highly organized) Commercial Real Estate attorney interested in an alternative career path within a top law firm practice.
The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $230,000 to $260,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base compensation range. Actual base compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, and location, as well as the needs of the firm.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree and active law license in good standing is required.
- 5+ years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal setting, with a focus on commercial real estate.
- Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in legal technology, knowledge management, and document management systems.
- Ability to work effectively and provide quality work product with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Ability to collaborate with attorneys and other departments in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with partners.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service and interact collegially with all attorneys, staff and clients.
