Inventory analyst
Overview:
The Inventory Analyst will oversee all inventory control initiatives, including inventory management, research and analysis, detailed reporting, and the documentation of process steps related to inventory discrepancies and accuracy. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our inventory across all products and warehouse locations.
Responsibilities:
- Execute timely investigations of inventory discrepancies arising throughout the manufacturing process.
- Act as the primary point of contact with Production and Accounting to ensure all inventory adjustments are investigated, addressed in a timely manner, and root causes are identified.
- Liaise with Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving, Distribution, and Warehouse teams to resolve receiving challenges and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Analyze and develop reports of inventory transactions within the ERP system (SAP).
- Perform analysis of inventory discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory data across all products and warehouse locations.
- Makes recommendations in conjunction with inventory manager as to which distribution center should house which parts and at what inventory level.
- Review receiving and invoicing discrepancies and open purchase order values effecting inventory; compile and publish reports to be used by DC managers.
- Executes inventory strategy in all distribution centers
- Develops reports and reviews system for items below the minimum and above the maximum. Provides analysis on reasons for discrepancies and make recommended
- Basic understanding of min/max and lot size settings and their inventory impact
- Ability to compile and manage large data sets and experience in databases is a plus.
- Identify problematic areas within inventory management, suggest improvements, and escalate complex inventory issues to management for immediate resolution.
- Document inventory discrepancies, including missing or mislabeled items, and track resolutions.
- Respond quickly to emails and maintain a sharp eye for detail.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to address inventory issues and support company goals.
- Basic understanding of min/max and lot size settings.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Experience with Excel, SharePoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience in managing operations processes for information-intensive industries is strongly desired.
- Experience with warehouse operations and high-volume data processing is highly preferred.
- ERP Software (SAP), Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint), and printers.
