The role

As part of the Business Development Team, your main focus will be on managing relationships with our existing and new pharma clients to establish clinical trial collaborations and business deals, new deals and projects with CROs, as well as leading talks with hospital systems for the deployment of monitoring technologies.

You will serve as Empatica’s direct interface with some of the most trusted R&D companies in the field, representing the company at every step of the process in proposing and brokering new projects. These projects are highly innovative, and often the first time such technologies are used for clinical research.

In addition, working together with other Program Managers, you will:

  • Scout new opportunities to deploy and develop digital biomarkers in clinical research and clinical practice.
  • Identify, screen and qualify new customer partnerships and opportunities.
  • Ensure that our customers have the right understanding of our products and technologies.
  • Be an attentive observer, capable of detecting obstacles in partnership development, that might affect its success, and report them to the Management Team
  • Coordinate requirements with the engineering and Data Science teams, in order to achieve our partners’ goals.
  • Liaise with Marketing, Clinical Operations and Management to align business strategies.
  • Represent Empatica among its highest-tier research and business clients.
  • Make sure that all the backend operations that support Empatica’s execution are properly handled.

  • This role will be based in our office in Boston, MA, with flexible options for partial remote working.

Requirements

Requirements

As the ideal candidate for this position you:

  • Have some years of experience in a similar position, although at Empatica we focus less on years of experience and more on talent.
  • Have a strong academic background (Masters degree), preferably in medicine, technology or biology. A firm understanding of novel digital technologies is mandatory.
  • Have prior experience in the Medtech and Digital Health industry (worked in biomedical research, Digital health, Pharma etc.).
  • Have a genuine interest, passion and motivation for Empatica's mission.
  • Have excellent communications skills.
  • Must have a firm sense of accountability and must be good at prioritization.
  • Have a pragmatic and execution mindset.
  • Are able to work as a team member or by yourself.

Previous experience in clinical operations is not mandatory, but it is a plus (e.g. biomedical research administration or healthcare, bioengineering background, knowledge of bioethics, etc.)
