Position Overview: The Retail Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, driving sales growth, managing the ice cream parlor, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This role requires strong leadership, operational efficiency, and a commitment to quality service in both the retail candy store and the ice cream parlor.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the candy store and ice cream parlor, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
  • Ensure ice cream and candy products are prepared, stored, and served according to health and safety guidelines.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of the ice cream parlor, including freezers, scooping stations, and service areas.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of enthusiastic retail and parlor staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to support their professional development and ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Schedule staff effectively to meet customer demand while maintaining labor cost targets.
  • Encourage teamwork and create a positive work culture that enhances employee retention.

Customer Experience:

  • Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring that every guest receives prompt, friendly, and high-quality service.
  • Train staff to provide excellent product knowledge, upselling techniques, and personalized recommendations for both chocolate and ice cream offerings.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and effectively to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the customer experience.

Financial Management:

  • Drive sales and maximize profitability through upselling techniques and effective cost control measures.
  • Monitor financial performance metrics, such as sales trends, revenue, and expenses, and take proactive measures to achieve targets.
  • Prepare and analyze sales reports, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address performance gaps.
  • Manage cash handling procedures, ensure accurate transactions, and maintain financial accountability.

Quality Assurance:

  • Uphold Malley's Chocolates' reputation for excellence by maintaining the highest standards of product quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Train staff in proper food handling techniques, portion control, and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications
  • :2-4 years of experience in retail management, preferably in the food, confectionery, or ice cream industry preferred, but not required.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving targets.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Solid understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and customer service best practices.
  • Knowledge of ice cream parlor operations, including food safety standards is a plus.
