We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Financial Analyst in Waukesha, Wisconsin. This role involves advanced professional work in the development, implementation, and management of financial, accounting, budgeting, and investment activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced level financial analysis to assist with the development, preparation, and monitoring of complex operating budgets and capital improvement project requests.
- Develop and monitor an investment policy for the organization.
- Administer financial accounting system and analyze property tax accounts.
- Interpret complex financial and statistical data to determine the costs of positions, programs, grants, labor contracts, interdepartmental charges, or department operations.
- Use report writing tools for the analysis, modeling, development, and monitoring of departmental operating budgets and program analysis.
- Evaluate financial programs and project operations to assess future budget funding needs.
- Coordinate, review, and record complex accounting, budget, or investment transactions; allocate to designated accounts and funds.
- Develop and manage the organization's long-range financial plan based on modeling of current and projected economic and financial trends, capital projects, and operating impacts.
- Monitor the organization's key statistical monitoring indicators including financial performance and economic environment.
- Monitor the execution of operating or replacement fund budgets, investigate variances from projected expenditures or revenues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Implement, review, and maintain detailed financial reports and computerized systems for proper implementation of financial procedures. • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Financial Analyst.
- Possess expertise in Business systems.
- Proficiency in Accounting Functions is mandatory.
- Experience in Auditing is essential.
- Should have a deep understanding of Budget Processes.
- Knowledge of Capital Management is required.
- Experience in Treasury and Treasury Management is a must.
- Must have the ability to conduct Cash Flow Analysis and Cash Flow Forecasts.
- Familiarity with Annual Audited Financial Statements is necessary.
- Candidates should hold a degree in finance, business, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are expected.
- A proven track record of financial modeling and analysis is required.
- Must be proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation is preferred.
