A prominent and well-respected manufacturer in Fort Wayne needs a Controls Engineer for their operation. This role works closely with customers, distributors, MFG Reps, along with other departments in providing technical knowledge and controls experience needed to support robotic product offering.

This position must work independently, taking initiative and total ownership to provide motion controls and support solutions to service/support the Yamaha brand of robots.

Controls Engineer Responsibilities:

Identify, develop, set up, test, verify and implement robotic and machine controls solutions to meet the needs of our customers.

Provide special controller generation/parameter files along with hardware/software/firmware solutions to meet customers requirements.

Provide trouble shooting, evaluations, repairs, problem solving support and on-site service for customers.

Provide electrical engineering solutions for wiring interfaces, safety controls, PC and PLC support.

Providing proper training and supporting material for all customers to obtain a specific results.

Provide all types of technical support and controls solutions for customers and distributors.

Conduct field visits to trouble shoot and provide solutions to customers issues and problems.

Accurately provide a scope of work (SOW) quote, clearly defining the project services and requirements that will be provided, timing to take to complete, as well as the customer responsibility and acceptance criteria for the services.

Be trustworthy, build good relationships with key customers, maintain a positive mental attitude and represent the organization in a professional manner.

Controls Engineer Requirements:

• Bachelors degree preferred and/or at least several years experience in automation, machine controls, system integration and robotics.
• Strong knowledge in the following:
• PLCs, VFDs, HMI, peripheral interfaces, power supplies.
• Ability to train and support customer.
• Ability to provide controls solutions with very minimal support.
• Ability to identify automation controls requirements.
