Perioperative Nurse, for Ophthalmology ASC
Overview:
Hauser Ross Ambulatory Surgery Center is searching for a patient focused, skilled Operating Room RN and/or Pre-Op/PACU RN for our Sycamore Center - No late evenings, no major holidays or weekends, a team oriented working environment where you are seen, heard and respected.
Top candidates would have previous OR RN experience in eye procedures, including cataracts, retina, cornea, and glaucoma.
Hauser Ross Ambulatory Surgery Center performs surgeries related only to ophthalmology that do not require hospital admission. Procedures are performed in a fully equipped operating room and recovery is under the care of highly skilled nurses.

The Registered Nurse, under the immediate supervision of the Operating Room Clinical Coordinator, is responsible for the safety of the patients while in the OR and assists with the supervision of nonprofessional personnel in the unit.
Responsibilities:
- Collects, interprets, records, and communicates pertinent data that are relative to the patient’s care in surgery
- Utilizes data collected to plan for intraoperative nursing care
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for the safety and administration of quality care to each patient to meet their physical, psychological, and psychosocial needs
- Continuously evaluates the patient’s response to nursing interventions and modifies the plan of care to achieve desired outcomes
- Supervises and directs patient care in an individual operating room
- Provides guidance and supervision to ancillary nursing staff
- Other duties as assigned
- New hire training on all systems and office practices
- Training support and communication of all ASC information
- Proficient in all ASC operations
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- State licensure as Registered Nurse required.
- Knowledge and experience in perioperative care of the surgical patient in ambulatory surgery
- BLS, ACLS qualified
- Ability to handle stressful work environment; comfortable performing a variety of projects in conjunction with normal activities
- Organization and problem-solving skills, proficient with Microsoft application
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as doctor’s notes
