Position Summary:

We foster a diverse environment that affirms each employee's dignity and worth, and we offer a chance to work with a team of compassionate people who provide lifesaving blood to our communities daily.What you can expect in this position: Under the direction of the Quality/Environmental, Health & Safety Leadership, the Student Intern plans and performs tasks and activities related to Quality Management System (QMS), Quality Assurance and/or Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) processes.
The Versiti Quality/EHS Internship provides an overview to various aspects of the Quality and EHS functions. This internship will give exposure to quality management systems, process standardization, project management, record management, quality assurance, accident prevention/response, emergency preparedness, processes that reduce risk of harm to people and the environment, and cross-functional teamwork supporting Versiti's mission of enhancing and saving lives.
You will work on project(s) that will have a measurable impact on our business while being coached and mentored by various Quality and EHS team members. This internship is designed to provide an opportunity to gain professional and diverse experience through a hands-on approach with a multi-state Quality/EHS department.

Responsibilities:
- When you will work?
- This is a full-time, 40 hour per week internship, working Monday-Friday. The internship will begin on June 2^nd. Our 10 - week summer internships are designed to provide hands-on, project-based experience in various areas of our business.

Participate in cross functional CapStone Intern Project with report out to Executive Leadership.- Maintains effective communication with internal and external stakeholder via email, phone and in person meetings.
- Participate and contribute to department meetings, execute on goals and objectives to deliver outstanding results.
- Assists with special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification

Qualifications:
Education- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program in a related field of the internship required
- Completed a minimum of 2 years in college/university in a related field of study for the internship preferred
- Basic Microsoft Office skills preferred
- Effective communication skills preferred
- Ability to be customer-focused and follow through on requests promptly preferred
- Strong organizational skills preferred
- Ability to quickly and accurately understand instructions and then work independently on assignments preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately preferred
- Demonstrates keen attention to detail preferred
- Personal and Network Computer required
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
- Printer, fax, and copy machines required
- Multiple phone lines required
