Interventional Radiology Technician - IRADTECH1025#01NJ

Location: Morristown, NJ 07960

Schedule Notes:

• Two full-time positions available.
• 5 days per week; shift times vary based on departmental needs.
• Includes both weekday and weekend on-call requirements.

Job Duties:

• Assist proceduralists during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases, providing direct support in scrubbing and assisting.
• Operate and maintain floor- and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopic machines, ensuring efficient use during procedures.
• Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex equipment and products as needed during interventional procedures.
• Apply critical thinking in neuro-interventional and complex cases to assist proceduralists.
• Safely operate power injection devices for iodinated contrast media during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Use closed-loop communication for effective teamwork.
• Set up sterile procedural trays, adhering to infection prevention protocols.
• Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons.
• Document procedures in the electronic medical record and send images to the Sectra/PACs system.
• Perform post-intervention groin management.
• Maintain high-quality care standards in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist or a Cardiovascular Technologist with NJ radiographic licensure.
• Expertise with fluoroscopic x-ray modalities and similar to a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) role, but requires radiographic licensure for x-ray operation.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, infection control, and procedural support.
• BLS certification (AHS-approved American Heart Association or equivalent) with practical skills demonstration in basic life support.

Education:

• Required:
• High School Diploma/GED
• Associate degree or completion of an accredited radiographic program.

Certifications and Licensure Required:

• NJ radiographic licensure.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association-approved or equivalent).
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R).
