Certified Payroll Specialist - Spring Valley

Robert Half is supporting a reputable construction company in Spring Valley, searching for an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to manage our payroll system for a specific construction project. This is an immediate contract position, with the possibly of extension or turning into a more long-term position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Administer the company's payroll system for our project-based employees accurately and on-time.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, as well as industry standards.
• Verifying workers' hours, deductions, and pay adjustments.
• Prepare and issue paychecks or electronic transfers to employees' bank accounts.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, and other benefit deductions).
• Ensure the construction site is compliant with prevailing wage laws, in relation to the Certified Payroll.
• Provide payroll-related training and support to the project team.
• Interface with project management and human resource staff.
• Possess strong understanding of the operational impacts of payroll and HR transactions.
• Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of payroll experience; experience in construction industry highly preferred.
• Proven knowledge of federal, state, and local tax and labor laws and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and payroll software programs.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
