Insurance Verification Coordinator

As an Insurance Verification Coordinator, you will be immersed in tasks related to insurance policies, claim processing and client communication.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough investigation of damages or injuries to gather pertinent information relating to insurance claims
• Interface with insurance companies to verify policy coverage and provide education to individuals about their coverage
• Oversee the process of obtaining insurance pre-authorizations
• Manage the collection of co-payments and the posting of payments
• Exhibit strong computer competencies and expertise with insurance claims software programs
• Utilize excellent communication and writing skills to prepare comprehensive reports
• Authorize and process claims and payments, ensuring a timely disbursement of funds to clients
• Apply basic office skills to maintain accurate and efficient operations. • Proven experience as an Insurance Verification Coordinator or similar role in a healthcare setting
• Strong understanding of insurance policies and insurance terminology
• Proficiency in basic office skills such as typing, filing, and managing correspondence
• Ability to use office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and scanners
• Detail-oriented with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers
• Proficient in using medical software for maintaining patient records and insurance details
• Strong problem-solving skills to handle any discrepancies or issues in insurance coverage
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain detail-oriented relationships with colleagues
• Understanding of data privacy regulations and practices
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Medical Administration is a plus.
