Instructional Associate/ParaEducator Specialized - Special Education (2024-2025 SY) at San Jose Unified
Salary: $23.53 per hour plus fully paid employee medical and dental benefits
The impact you will have: As an instructional associate you will assist the teacher to support our special education students in developing their academic, social, and life skills. We offer a variety of programs, from transitional kindergarten through postsecondary.We are looking for committed professionals who will help to supervise and support student learning.
Who you are: A dedicated, collaborative professional with strong communication skills who can develop successful relationships with students, families, and co-workers.
What you bring:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following:
- Passage of the San José Unified Instructional Associate Assessment (view tutorial here). This will be completed after your application and interview, or
- an Associates Degree or higher, or
- two years of college (48 units)
- Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred
- Completion of San José Unified’s Crisis Intervention training within 60 days of start date.
