Grant Accountant

We are seeking a Grant Accountant to join our team in Newark, The role will train in the office full time and after 3 moths can go into a hybrid schedule.

Great opportunity for someone who is in school finishing their education, or a candidate with 1-2 years of Non-Profit experience.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing Grants and Contracts that are sent by the city and state
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for.
• Ensuring Billing is done correctly.
• Prepare journal entries as part of the company's financial record-keeping process.
• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial records are accurate and complete.
• Utilize QuickBooks software
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records.
• Resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts and transactions.
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field or in Progress
• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience working for a Non Profit Organization
• Experience in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close processes
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with other departments and stakeholders
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data and reports
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Familiarity with financial regulations and standards
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
