We are currently seeking a dynamic Director to lead our Before and/or After School Program at Douglas Grafflin Elementary School in Chappaqua, NY. As the Director, you will oversee every aspect of the Healthy Kids Program at the site, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for all involved.
JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-ExemptPAY: $18 $20 per hour
HOURS: 7:30 AM 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM 6:00 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guiding Compliance: Ensure the program and staff are fully compliant with OCFS guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the regulations set by the host school.Bringing the Fun: Lead exciting, hands-on activities that align with the Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering areas like fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Youll also play a key role in homework assistance your expertise will make you the homework hero!
Managing Operations: Handle essential management tasks, including accurate attendance and registration records, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels to ensure smooth daily operations.
Keeping Everyone Informed: Use the Playground App to maintain consistent communication with parents and family members.Team Collaboration: Regularly communicate with your direct supervisor to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, address issues, and work collaboratively to provide the highest standard of care, create a positive work environment, and proactively address challenges.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:To qualify as a Director, you must meet one of the following requirements:
Associates degree in early childhood or related field (with plans to pursue a bachelors degree or a NY State childrens program administrator credential), two years of full-time teaching experience in a childcare setting, and two years of experience supervising staff in a childcare program or related field.
OR
Bachelors degree (including or supplemented with 12 credits in early childhood, child development, or related fields), one year of full-time teaching experience in a childcare setting, and one year of experience supervising staff in a childcare program or related field.
OR
New York State childrens program administrator credential, one year of full-time teaching experience in a childcare setting, and one year of experience supervising staff in a childcare program or related field.
OR
Child Development Associate credential or similar, with a plan to pursue a bachelors degree or a New York State childrens program administrator credential, two years of full-time teaching experience in a childcare setting, and two years of experience supervising staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of background checks, including fingerprinting, references, and NYS Office of Children and Family Services checks (SEL & SCR).Medical clearance from your doctor, confirming you are fit for the role and free of communicable diseases, including TB.
A warm, approachable, and upbeat demeanor, with excellent people skills to engage children, parents, and colleagues alike.
Strong leadership and motivational abilities, with a commitment to delivering high-quality childcare.
Physical readiness to bend, stretch, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and keep pace with the dynamic needs of children.
