Data Engineer

The role will be based in Newark, New Jersey, and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with team members, including data analysts and data scientists, to comprehend data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Design, construct, and manage scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to handle both structured and unstructured data.
• Incorporate data from various sources into data storage systems, such as warehouses or lakes.
• Develop and manage data models to support the needs of analytics and reporting.
• Ensure the data's integrity, consistency, and accuracy through quality checks and validation procedures.
• Work with stakeholders to establish and enforce data governance policies.
• Monitor and enhance the performance of data systems and pipelines.
• Resolve issues related to data processing and storage.
• Provide technical support and documentation for data systems and processes.
• Implement data architecture best practices to ensure high availability and performance.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proficient in Apache Kafka, Apache Pig, and Apache Spark.
• Demonstrated experience in Data Visualization and Algorithm Implementation.
• Proficient in using analytics tools for data-driven decision making.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Apache Hadoop.
• Proven track record in API Development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field is preferred.
