Key Responsibilities:

• Review drawings to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
• Assist engineering with bill of material accuracy, cost estimating, planning and specifications development
• Develops CAD models, Bills of Materials (BOM’s), Job Routings, set-up sheets and occasionally programs for machine tools.
• Create drawings for components and assemblies
• Perform design optimization for parts and assemblies including material selection, weight savings, and budget
• Perform tolerance stack-ups (including statistical)
• Participate in FMEAs and design reviews
• Providing CAD drawings to support sales, production and new product development
• Work with a team to develop new products, improve manufacturing practices, quality control improvement and documentation
• Provides process plans and cycle times for cost estimates for quoting new work.

Skills:

• BSME/BSIE or Engineering Technology
• Internship experience to 0-2 years of experience
• Proficient computer skills in Creo or SolidWorks, Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to read drawing schematics & layouts
• Develop process routers and Bills of Materials.
• Understand sheet metal fabrication processes and machining processes.
• Trained in Lean Manufacturing principles
• Interested working in an automotive manufacturer
