Our Hartford Municipal client is looking for a Senior Accountant for a 3-6 month project. The Senior Accountant will help with day to day accounting deliverables. The includes journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close. Municipality accounting experience preferred.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a senior accountant in the government sector.
- Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Demonstrated ability to record and analyze journal entries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software for data entry and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on details.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Demonstrated understanding of government accounting principles and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development in the field of accounting.
