Overview:

A lovely family in Dallas, TX are seeking a full-time live-out nanny for their 6-month-old to start in January! The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 7am-3/4pm, with a guarantee of at least 40 hours per week, with some flexibility for occasional schedule changes due to parents' work schedules, date nights, and travel.

The nanny will have a background in child development and will help keep their baby engaged and stimulated. The family is looking for a candidate who brings dedication, energy, and a passion for childcare to this exciting role!

Responsibilities:

  • Overall care of the 6-month-old
  • Reading to the child, encouraging explorative play inside and outside, preparing engaging and stimulating age-appropriate activities
  • Minding developmental milestones and educational development
  • Taking the child on outings appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Help implement a sleep routine and schedule when needed, but also follow baby's cues of when he is tired, hungry, etc
  • Help ensure the baby is on a feeding routine and assist where needed
  • Communicating with parents on all aspects of the care of the child, including keeping up a log of baby’s care, wellbeing, and development
  • Preparing well-balanced and nutritious meals appropriate to the needs of the child
  • Helping prepare for special occasions, such as birthday parties
  • Continuing care when the child is sick and helping administer medicine, with the consent of the parents
  • Occasionally travelling with the child and preparing for holidays, weekend visits, etc. (Advanced notice of dates will be provided)
  • Coordinating schedules for naps and meals, activities, and travel
  • Child related light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and tidying the nursery, bedroom, playroom, and other areas as agreed between the parents and nanny. Cleaning, laundering and mending the child’s clothes and sanitizing toys when needed.
  • Being responsible for all equipment related to the care of the child, including the cleaning and maintenance of items such as sterilizers, car seats, etc.
  • Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby, while respecting the family’s personal preferences

Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, loving, caring, friendly, thoughtful, honest
  • Flexible, reliable, and trustworthy
  • Happy to travel if/when needed
  • Self-starter, team payer, does not need constant instructions and can take initiative and research age-appropriate activities, but can take direction and follow house rules as well
  • Deep understanding of child development stages and appropriate activities for different age groups
  • Educationally focused – interacting and engaging in an age-appropriate manner and keeping the baby developmentally on track
  • Someone who can engage the child in STEM activities
  • Someone with high energy – a balance of bubbly/energetic, and calm/centered
  • The family values safety, attention to details, and good hygiene, and asks that the nanny does as well
  • Experience potty training toddlers
  • Comfortable in a busy home
  • Strong communication skills
  • Someone looking for long term
  • Prior experience working with children in a professional childcare setting preferred

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 6 years of professional nanny experience with references for ages 6 months+
  • Team player with excellent communication
  • No ego – able to provide recommendations when needed, but also take cues from and respect the family's choices
  • Must be reliable, dedicated, and have a strong work ethic
  • Must be ok with dogs, family has two Yorkies
  • Someone who can navigate parents that are home often (mom works from home)
  • Travel ready
  • Comfortable around the water, and can at least hold their own swimming
  • Valid US drivers license
  • Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certified, or willing to certify
  • Ok with signing an NDA
  • Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits:

  • Hourly rate is $40+, based on experience
  • 2-weeks vacation, 5 sick days, and holidays
  • Family is open to a relocation package for qualified candidates
