Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is onsite in Hickory, North Carolina.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Supporting manufacturing transformation activities including layout improvements, tool organization, and visual management
  • Collaborating with the operations team to strategically solve problems and support on-time delivery of ABB products manufactured to the highest quality
  • Working with the team to drive a safety culture by identifying improvements to work areas and processes
Qualifications for the role
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in engineering, in the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress

The hourly rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications, graduation year and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
