Human Resources (HR) Assistant

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Wallingford, Connecticut. This role is crucial in our team as it involves recruiting and staffing caregivers for our three offices, conducting orientation sessions, managing background verification, and maintaining meticulous records through various platforms like Excel and Google Sheets.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting recruitment activities to source caregivers efficiently
• Overseeing staffing needs and filling shifts promptly
• Running background checks to ensure the credibility of applicants
• Handling orientation sessions twice a week to familiarize new recruits with our operations
• Maintaining meticulous records of caregivers' placements using spreadsheets
• Sending verification letters as part of our standard recruitment process
• Utilizing both Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets to track information and trends
• Handling inquiries and providing excellent customer service
• Ensuring the use of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) for efficient management of HR functions
• Conducting interviews to assess the suitability of applicants for the caregiver role.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human resources role
• Proficiency in conducting background checks
• Experience in managing benefit functions
• Strong customer service skills
• Familiarity with various human resources software
• Experience with HRIS - Human Resources Info Systems
• Knowledge of home care industry is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Experience in recruiting personnel and utilizing various recruiting sources
• Familiarity with recruitment sourcing strategies
• Proven track record in conducting interviews
• Experience in conducting new-employee orientations
• Possession of basic office skills
• Proficient in using spreadsheets
