Robert Half has a new opening for a MS Dynamics Consultant/Technical Support SME with a client in Lakewood Ranch, FL (34202).

This a 6 month contract, with compensation flexible $70-90/hour depending on experience.

Overview of project/skills required: Looking for a Microsoft CRM and GP Technical Support SME. The Technical Support SME would fill this knowledge gap, working and shadowing with the current team and then providing SME support, technical requests, special projects, bug fixes, maintenance, and ad hoc needs within their Microsoft GP 18.6 and Microsoft CRM.

Summary of Responsibilities:

End client is working from a legacy system (Dynamics CRM 2011, Great Plains) that a majority of their programs are still based in. They are trying to kick off a project to replace those systems but that hasn’t started yet and it will probably still be a couple of years until that happens.
There are two employees right now doing the work – one is a developer and the other is a mixed developer/BA who does it all, but neither of them have a deep technical background. All the work that needs to be done on the system goes through them so they are seeing a bottle neck, hence needing to bring someone in now. Ideally one resource who can do this work.
Issues that are coming up are bug fixes, configurations, enhancement requests. They’ve had some carrier audits so trying to get through enhances/fixes that have come up from the audits. Really it’s a bottleneck of work and they need someone who can come in, roll up their sleeves and take initiative to get this work done. They don’t need a full-stack developer, but definitely someone that can do configuration work and must have experience with SQL queries.
Needs to figure out the issues, see what needs to be done and execute on it. They will get some direction from the two current employees, but not a lot. Basically watch the employees do something, document it and mirror their work, then rinse and repeat and get to business taking on requests.
A lot of what they are doing is configuring insurance products. Any experience with P& L insurance might give them a leg up but its not necessary. It’s a high-stress environment so they need to be resilient and ok with people relying on them.
