SAP Solutions Architect

Overview:

This individual will provide the highest level of technical expertise for the design, development, and communication of PDF’s Smart Factory software products, the infrastructure components required to support them, and in the integration of corporate and client architectures.

The Architect will provide technical leadership for multiple projects and must effectively prioritize and manage deadlines and internal client expectations while developing innovative and effective solutions for the most diverse and complex industry problems.

This role will require broad development expertise and strong design experience with SAP integrations, microservices architecture in corporate IT, and deployment models for cloud, on-premises and hybrid deployment models. Successful candidates will demonstrate past success and enthusiasm to work in a global team-oriented environment that offers the opportunity to build the architecture discipline.

Responsibilities:

Product Vision Development
  • Recommend, coordinate, and design system components for integration software and tools to meet operational requirements.
  • Will analyze user requirements, conduct studies, cost vs benefit, and alternative system approaches to determine the optimal system architecture.
  • Evaluate new technical developments; identify impacts on current or planned resources; predict future organizational needs to develop future technology proposals.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of client needs to ensure that needs have been identified and that solutions have been developed to address these needs.
Team Leadership
  • Provide technical leadership to the project team; ensure that all team members are working together effectively, are communicating with other teams, and producing quality work in line with the overall program vision.
Communication
  • Provide useful updates to allow other managers to plan their business activities.
  • Will work with internal and external customers to develop systems to meet required business specifications.
  • Communicate with the development team to ensure that they understand what is required of them. Work with the Development team, R&D leads, and program directors to deliver projects.
  • Will act as a liaison with specified user areas; identify client software applications and hardware requirements.
  • Assist the project managers in performing required tests and installation procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good technological base for effectively understanding the technical specifications involved in applications integration with SAP.
  • Experience with high tech manufacturing in the electronics industry and can assist our customers, the largest semiconductor and electronics manufactures, to implement their digital transformation programs.
  • Strong and broad technical background with experience with public cloud deployments, on-premises, and hybrid deployments. Knowledgeable on related topics like IT infrastructure, hardware, network systems, network systems and services, as well as operating systems and security frameworks.
  • Good interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and good organizational skills for effectively communicating the technical specifications to the customers.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, with OEMs and ODMs, both domestically and internationally.
  • High personal standards and always work to deliver the very best product.
  • Ability to create a vision of a solution which stretches the team and delivers true innovation in the marketplace.

Qualifications:

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Five to ten years related experience required. Eight or more years related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with manufacturing execution systems (MES) used in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.
  • Knowledge and experience working with SAP Production Planning (PP) module and associated modules like MM, FICO and QM.
  • Strong knowledge of software development in public cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team or independently.
  • Effective Business Communication: Skilled in communicating with technical and business constituencies in writing effective business specifications and requirements.
  • Excellent time management and organization; able to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel on company business, attend client functions, and professionally represent the company.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related field like Electrical or Computer Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ten+ years’ experience working as an Architect or highest level technical contributor on enterprise software development teams.
  • At least five years’ experience working in an Agile software development environment.

Pay Range: USD $157,461.00 - USD $185,461.00 /Yr.
