Senior Security Engineer
Overview:
The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security measures to protect TCS information systems.
This role involves hands-on technical work and strategic oversight to ensure that security policies and procedures are in place and effective. The Senior Security Engineer will collaborate with various teams including but not limited to IT, Product, Engineering, Development, and external vendors to ensure security is integrated into the design of systems and applications.The position requires a deep understanding of security technologies and the ability to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Responsibilities:
- Security Tools and Technologies:
- Design and implement secure network components, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and endpoint security.
- Provides management and maintenance of critical security hardware and software including, but not limited to Firewalls, IPS/IDS, Anti-Virus, Endpoint protection and MDR agents.
- Leads strategic technology and security initiatives to build and maintain key elements of the company’s security infrastructure
- Threat Detection and Incident Response:
- Monitor security systems for potential threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
- Investigate and respond to security breaches, managing incident resolution from detection through post-incident analysis.
- Provide expertise in threat intelligence and proactively assess emerging threats.
- Vulnerability and Risk Management:
- Work as a key contact for regular security assessments, including penetration testing and vulnerability scans, to identify weaknesses in systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess risk and prioritize remediation activities.
- Compliance and Best Practices:
- Identify any potential security gaps in existing application infrastructure and work with appropriate partners for remediation.
- Provide guidance on security standards and regulatory compliance to internal teams.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to continually improve the organization's security posture.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with other departments such as IT, legal, and risk management to ensure a coordinated approach to security.
- Support security awareness programs to educate employees on security best practices.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Document security policies, incident reports, and vulnerability assessments for internal stakeholders

Qualifications:
- College degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent related work experience required
- Eight or more years of experience in Information Technology with five years of experience in Information Security
- CISSP or equivalent certification a plus
- Proficiency and hands-on experience managing and implementing various security tools such as Endpoint protection, IPS/IDS, DLP, Web filtering, SIEM, security auditing tools, vulnerability scanners, encryption, and Network Access Controls
- Knowledge of regulations and policies pertaining to information security and the retail industry, including PCI and SOX
- Knowledge of identity and access control
- Experience with a public cloud provider a plus, ideally Google Cloud Platform
- Experience working in a 24/7 on-call environment and the flexibility to work additional and/or late hours based on business needs
- Prior retail experience a plus
- Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
- Occasional on-call availability required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
