Field Technician
This position requires frequent overnight out of town travel. This position frequently operates in a variety of power and utility plants.
- General laboring duties (equipment set up, equipment break down, gathering tools, etc.)
- Assist at the project site with field condition assessments.
- Assist at the project site with field inspections of various critical components.
- Operating various types of hand tools and power equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to support the team.
May need to navigate uneven terrain.
Physical Demands
Frequent
- Lifting weight up to and over 50 lbs. in both a vertical and horizontal range of motion.
- Crawl, stoop, stand, reach (push/pull) & bend to perform necessary work.
- Able to ascend and descend on extension ladders, step ladders and stairs using feet and/or hands and arms.
- Able to drive a company vehicle and walk around at job sites.
- Computer input, typing an answering the phone.
- Clarity of vision at both over 20 feet and under 20 inches.
- Able to judge depth (distance & space relationships), have a good field of vision, and identify and distinguish colors.
- Adjustment of eye to bring object into sharp focus.
- Using oil or chemicals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform task and adhere to the company's safety policies and procedures.
- Organized, self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and conduct themselves professionally.
- Ability to effectively interact with employees from all levels within an organization.
- Ability to practice discretion and good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Field work in power plants or similar industrial facilities is a plus!
- Non-Destructive Testing is a plus!
- Hands on work experience in welding, machining, construction or a similar trade is a plus!
- A valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record is a plus!
- Certifications are a plus (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, ASNT, API, AWS-CWI)!
