Applications Engineer - Electrical Controls

Our Germantown area client has a need for an Electrical Controls Application Engineer

Our client is an automation and electrical control distributor serving mainly the local/Wisconsin customer client base and supports PLC & Distributed I/O, Motion Control, Variable Frequency Drives, HMI/SCADA, Sensor and Robotic technologies.

In this role, The Application Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of communication with the customer from pre-sale to post-sale activities. This is not a ‘Cold Calling’ role.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide phone, email & onsite support with trouble shooting, application assistance, and product training.
• Work with the sales team to support the sales process such as technical demonstrations/presentations and selecting/sizing the appropriate product per application requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the electrical control products
• Develop and maintain close business relationships with key vendor contacts
• Attend key meetings, such as product updates and training.
• Work with other internal and external groups to meet/exceed expectations and continuous improvement efforts.
• Travel is minimal and mostly local

Ideal Experience:

• 5 years’ experience working with electrical control or power distribution products
• Experience and understanding of electrical standards and codes (UL 508A, NFPA 79, NEC NFPA 70 is a plus).
• Experience working with automation solutions such as PLC, HMI and industrial networking solutions is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering is desired
• Other Engineering degrees (Mechanical, Computer, Manufacturing), will be considered.
