Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator/ Loader

Overview:

Coastal Waste & Recycling is a locally owned and operated South Florida-based solid waste and recycling, hauling, and disposal company. We are experiencing explosive growth and with growth comes opportunity. We are currently adding a heavy equipment operator.

Responsibilities:

Essential functions

• Operate heavy equipment, including front loader, excavator, and supporting equipment
• Ensure the maintenance of equipment.
• Organize containers or trucks for material loading
• Perform pre and post trip inspection of equipment daily.
• Keep equipment, clean, safe and in good working order
• Observe waste being processed at a facility for proper transportation and the staging of materials.
• Safely operate all heavy equipment controls for processing and loading.
• Assist mechanics with minor mechanical repairs.

• Shifts may vary Monday-Saturday
• 40+ hours a week
• Work sites with dust and debris

Physical demands

• Must be able to safely lift and move 50lbs or more at a time
• Extended periods of sitting in heavy equipment cab for long periods of time

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Two years’ experience safely operating heavy equipment

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
• Waste industry experience
