Workplace Specialist

Overview:
As our Workplace Specialist, you will have the responsibility for overseeing the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure an engaged and supported staff population. You will report to the Senior Director of Real Estate and Workplace and be part of the global Workplace Team.This role will be onsite in our Durham, North Carolina location
Job Responsibilities:
- You will ensure the office environment and resources are conducive to employee productivity and well-being and reflect Avalara culture
- You will provide a welcoming and inviting front-desk reception experience
- You will promote standards that enhance efficiencies
- You will maintain the office space ensuring it is in functional condition and up to Avalara look and feel standards
- You will purchase office supplies and equipment maintaining inventory and distribution throughout the office
- You will work with and assist micro-market vendors to ensure fresh and quality offerings while maintaining top-notch service
- Support the planning and execution of in-office meetings and events
- Receive and sort incoming mail and deliveries, and manage outgoing mail working with vendors and internal leaders to provide the most efficient and effective process
- Oversee the implementation of assigned employee programs (examples - anniversary, newborn, AvaKids, etc)
- Manage purchase order process and submit expense reports
- Work on special projects as assigned providing status updates and staying within the allocated budget and timeline
- Coordinate with the Internal Communications Team regarding office-specific communications while also maintaining clear information on our intranet
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of employee engagement experience
- 2+ years of office experience
- Knowledge of office management responsibilities and systems
- You have excellent customer service experience
- 3+ years experience with Microsoft Office/Google Suite
- You can work onsite in our Durham office
