Position Summary:We have an opportunity for a Senior Revenue Specialist to join the firm’s Corporate Accounting & Finance department. The position will be responsible for the analysis and collection of our insured portfolio thus requiring extensive familiarity with insurance guidelines and implementation of those guidelines.

Essential Functions:

  • Knowledgeable of billing guidelines related to insurance matters. Ability to follow matter through invoicing, approval, appeal process, and payment. Extensive understanding of guidelines, retention allocation, status and type of matter, and communication with adjusters, attorneys, and clients on various facets of invoicing and collection.
  • Analyze matters concerning short pays or unpaid invoices. This includes review of insurance guidelines, analysis of payments to ensure proper allocation, determination of retention amounts, communication with adjusters/claim handlers regarding payments, communication with attorney to obtain knowledge regarding case and any special arrangements, discussion of payment with client, and following matter through closure and payment of all invoices.
  • Analysis of reductions to invoices and appeal of same including explanation to attorneys and submitting non-ebilled appeals to proper parties.
  • Extensive communication with clients, attorneys, and insurance adjusters/claim handlers regarding questions related to invoices, payments, reductions, retention, etc.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable regarding payments that are not readily matched with outstanding invoices.
  • Collection of aged accounts through various means.
  • Reconciliation of insured aged accounts to determine person responsible for payment.
  • Review and analysis of multi-payer invoices regarding set-up, billing, and collection.
  • Locate/monitor overdue accounts using Star Collect collection systems and provide weekly reports.
  • Effectively utilize billing and/or collection systems to identify and monitor client past-due amounts.
  • Perform specialized tasks as assigned, which may include filing claims and monitoring clients in DIP and in bankruptcy, setting up and maintaining promissory notes and personal guarantees, and assisting in obtaining and interpreting credit reports.
  • A clear knowledge of the FDCPA.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years related experience required
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and billing functions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and related technology.
  • Organization, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Commitment to perform responsibilities with high professional and ethical standards

Benefits:In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $58,000 and $87,000. In accordance with New York State’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $50,720 and $97,920.
In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is $52,160 and $86,640. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $60,800 and $91,200.
In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $62,000 and $93,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
