Originally founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions brings 30 years of experience serving individuals in crisis and operates two of the nation’s largest and most studied crisis response centers and is currently expanding to more states.

Since opening our doors, we have provided care and treatment for hundreds of thousands of individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do:

The Shift/Unit Supervisor is responsible for providing operational and administrative oversight of the facility during assigned shifts or within specific units, ensuring that processes are streamlined to deliver the most efficient care to patients and effective utilization of resources.

The Shift Supervisor ensures that patients progress smoothly through the facility, receiving the appropriate level of care at each stage.

  • Operational Oversight:
  • Supervise the operation of the assigned unit and shift, ensuring that the clinical team functions efficiently, smoothly, and consistently to support high-quality patient care and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Patient Flow Management:
  • Oversee the organization and flow of patients within the unit and facility, including delegating work assignments across all disciplines and managing admissions, transfers, and discharges. Serve as the on-site resource for clinical staff, patients, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Resource Management
  • Ensure that all clinical staff adhere to Utilization Management and Revenue Cycle Management guidelines, facilitating accurate coding and billing of services.
  • Address and resolve escalated concerns from both internal and external stakeholders, proactively identifying and managing barriers that could impact patient flow.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Standards:
  • Maintain strict adherence to policies, procedures, standards of practice, and the requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • Staff Training and Support:
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff, ensuring they are fully integrated into unit processes and procedures. Collaborate with discipline managers to ensure comprehensive orientation to their roles.
  • Safety and Crisis Management:
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques and theories to maintain a safe environment, effectively communicating and demonstrating roles and responsibilities related to safety.
  • Be trained in and capable of performing Safe Clinch techniques, providing oversight, and guidance to the clinical team during crises.
  • Performance and Behavior Management:
  • Partner with clinical and administrative managers to identify, address, and manage performance and behavior issues among staff.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and safety of the facility.

Qualifications:

What You'll Bring:

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a direct clinical care provider in Nursing, Social Services, Administrative or Milieu support (BHS/RSS)
  • 2 years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to encourage cross-functional and multi-disciplinary partnership
  • Working understanding of utilization management and revenue cycle management in the behavioral health setting
  • Must pass the following background checks
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI Criminal Background Check
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
  • Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment

It Would Be Great if You Had:

  • At least 2 years of clinical work experience in a crisis behavioral health setting
  • 3 years of leadership experience
  • Ability to perform Safe Clinch restraint techniques

The standard hiring range for this position in Harrisburg, PA is $30.00 - $36.00 per hour. The exact compensation will be based on factors such as years of experience, competency, and skill level.
