Job Description

We are seeking a motivated engineer with a passion for automating infrastructure, deployments, testing and tools. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for preparing, deploying, maintaining and supporting technical resources in support of our application engineering and data science teams.

Everything we build runs in AWS, and all the systems we operate are automated with a combination of tools including Ansible, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes, shell scripting, and other programming languages.

Responsibilities
  • Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, observable, secure, and self-healing.
  • Define and deploy observability systems enabling teams to gain technical and business insights and avoid system failures via metrics, logging, and tracing.
  • Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes.
  • Understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation.
  • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems and methodologies on the AWS platform.
  • Work with other teams to achieve business objectives.
  • This position may have time required off-hours or on-call to troubleshoot issues, provide support and respond to outages.
Requirements
  • Experience developing in Python, Java, Node.js, Go, Bash or similar.
  • Experience in automation, configuration management and testing via shell scripting, and tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins.
  • Database management expertise, ideally with experience in PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Containers and Kubernetes.
  • Two or more years experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments.
  • Understanding of agile and other development processes and methodologies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both management and peers.
  • Passionate about technology, automation and security.
  • Special consideration given to candidates with AWS DevOps/SysOps/developer certifications, as well as those with experience supporting Data Scientists, Big Data, and/or ML/AI workloads or knowledge and understanding of HIPAA regulations.

Location: Boston MA or remote

Salary Range - $100,000 - $125,000
