Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in our CPA Firm based in Syracuse, New York. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including managing accounts payable and payroll functions.
They will also be tasked with maintaining accurate records, processing customer applications, and resolving customer inquiries.
Responsibilities:- Manage and process customer credit applications to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain and update customer credit records regularly
- Resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts promptly
- Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as required
- Utilize various platforms such as Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, Expensify, Knowify, Bill Spend, Paychex, ADP, Paylocity for invoicing and payment processing
- Process invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors
- Manage the accounts payable ledger and assist with month-end closings
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist in the development and improvement of accounts payable processes
- Handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required
- Must demonstrate knowledge and experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations is necessary
- Experience in General Ledger maintenance is essential
- Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries is required
- Must have experience in executing Month End Close procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of CPA firm operations and practices is an advantage
- Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and professionalism.
