Accounts Payable Specialist

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be vital in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You will also play a key role in managing vendor relationships and ensuring the accuracy of our accounts payable system.
Responsibilities:- Accurately input vendor invoices and credit memos into the accounts payable system
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements and ensure all payments are accurate
- Code all invoices to the correct expense account(s) and ensure mathematical accuracy of all invoices
- Assist with the onboarding of new vendors as required
- Work closely with software support teams to resolve any accounts payable issues
- Setup automatic charges on company credit cards and review submissions for approval
- Process weekly in-house check runs and prepare them for mailing
- Maintain an effective electronic accounting department filing system and propose new procedures and policies for file maintenance
- Assist with month-end close by reviewing delegated expense accounts
- Create journal entries for shared services and assigned consolidated billing statements
- Assist with year-end duties including gathering vendor information for Form 1099s
- Notarize documents as required
- Reconcile uncleared payments on a monthly basis • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP)
- Solid understanding of Accrual Accounting
- Experienced with NetSuite software
- Ability to code invoices accurately
- Proven experience in managing vendor relationships
- Familiarity with company credit card management
- Capable of processing weekly checks
- Skilled in creating and maintaining journal entries
- Expertise in account reconciliation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledgeable about Form 1099 procedures
- Experience with Year End Closings operations
