About The Role:
Client is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Civil, Structural, and Earthworks components of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project in Corona, CA. This role involves providing technical and field support to project management and supervision teams to ensure that construction work is efficient, timely, and meets engineering standards.
Essential Functions:
- Safety Compliance:
- Follow company health and safety guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
- Project Coordination & Execution:
- Assist with construction layout, procurement of materials/equipment, manpower scheduling, and document control.
- Perform field inspections to ensure compliance with work plans, codes, and specifications.
- Provide in-field support to supervision and craft labor for smooth execution of construction activities.
- Technical Support & Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain construction documents, sketches, material requirement calculations, and status reports.
- Research and resolve drawing interpretation issues, conflicts, and interferences, initiating RFIs (Requests for Information) when necessary.
- Assist with project scheduling, subcontractor pay applications, RFIs, and progress reports.
- Quality Control & Compliance:
- Verify that completed work aligns with specifications, permits, and project requirements.
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing contractor claims and change orders while maintaining thorough records.
- Construction Oversight & Site Management:
- Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and material installation.
- Prepare/facilitate work method statements and ensure all necessary approvals and permits are in place before work begins.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
- 0-5 years of experience in construction, design, or field support.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of construction equipment, techniques, blueprints, building materials, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with Project Management software such as CMiC, P6, Bluebeam, CAD, Expedition, and SharePoint.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage interfaces and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience:
- Prior experience with water/wastewater construction projects.
- Experience in civil, structural, or earthworks on large-scale heavy civil construction projects (power, gas, petrochemical, or mining process).
- Onsite experience with a self-performing contractor on projects exceeding $10M.
