Bilingual Medical Assistant

This role includes clinical and administrative duties, from documenting medical histories and interpreting during exams, to scheduling appointments and managing patient records.

• Serve as the communication link between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers to facilitate effective care.
• Collect, organize, and record medical histories of patients.
• Assist healthcare professionals during physical examinations and medical procedures.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
• Update and maintain patient records while ensuring the strictest confidentiality.
• Coordinate laboratory service, including phlebotomy, paperwork, and specimen storage.
• Assist in patient education by providing appropriate bilingual materials and answering questions.
• Monitor and manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
• Answer incoming calls, attend to patient inquiries and relay messages as needed.
• Comply with all safety and infection control regulations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a relevant healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in using healthcare software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Understanding of medical terminologies and practices in both English and Spanish.
• Proven ability to multitask, manage time, and prioritize effectively.
• Strong customer service and compassionate patient care skills.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is a plus.
