Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Surgical Unit (PSU) - RNPSU24-15000

Location: Coos Bay, OR 97420

Responsibilities:

• Provide holistic care for post-operative patients, including those who have undergone orthopedic, bariatric, urologic, or general surgical procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, covering physical, psychosocial, and learning needs, while considering age and cultural factors.
• Establish nursing diagnoses collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.
• Develop and update individualized care plans based on patient assessments and needs.
• Assisting with daily living activities and ensuring patient safety.
• Administering medications and performing skin assessments/wound care.
• Managing pain effectively.
• Utilizing biomedical equipment for patient monitoring and care.
• Assisting with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
• Supervise and direct unlicensed assistive personnel to optimize patient care.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination of overall care.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and care in the electronic medical record, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements:

• Recent acute care hospital experience (within the last 2 years).
• Recent experience in post-surgical acute care, specifically with orthopedic patients (e.g., total joint replacement, spinal, trauma, and/or bariatric surgery).
