EMT Emergency Room Part Time Nights
Position Summary:
Provides safe transfer of patients to local facilities, discharges and outlying facilities.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Documentation of each transfer to include: type of transfer and destination of patient being transported.
Communicates appropriate patient information with RN/RRT/Paramedic when transfer is by ambulance on the appropriate run sheet.
Demonstrates competency in advanced unit specific tasks and skills as defined by unit specific competency list.
Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/TrainingHigh school graduate or equivalent
Successful completion of Emergency Medical Technician program from approved/accredited Department of Transportation
(DOT) program. May also be a graduate of an additional paramedic program.
Licensure/Certification
Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license or Paramedic (PMD) license in the State of Alabama –renewed every two (2) years.
Maintain current Basic life support certification (BLS).Emergency Vehicle Operator’s Certificate (EVOC) certification.
Valid Florida driver’s license with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under the Orlando Health Insurance carrier’s requirements and standards.
ExperienceOne (1) year of ambulance driving experience and/or Fire Department experience.
