Electrical Estimator

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position reports directly to the Electrical Project Manager and is intended to provide estimating and inside sales support as needed. The Electrical Estimator is responsible for developing VTI product line estimates based on customer supplied documentation.The accuracy of the estimates developed is critical to the ability of the company to competitively bid work and maintain profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Essential and other important responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:- Process quote requests in a timely manner.
- Assess all supplied requirements, specifications, and electrical drawings to develop a comprehensive understanding of customer needs.
- Work closely with engineering and other stakeholders to identify and flag any potential design specification shortcomings.
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors to obtain current pricing and lead-times for required materials.
- Prepare a detailed estimate and proposal letter for thorough review and timely submittal that adheres to NEC and UL 508A standards.
- Establish and maintain communications with customers during and after the quoting process.
- Assist in developing change orders as needed.
- Support marketing resources and sales engineers as needed.
