Job Description:

Our client is looking for a forward-thinking, energetic Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. This client serves the ecommerce needs of leading and growing grocery retailers with millions of shoppers located throughout the East Coast and Midwest. Experience:

• Working with the Applications, Engineering, Platform, Operations and infrastructure and Cloud teams to ensure we are a premier software delivery organization.
• Drive software engineering standard processes into all of our operational spaces by leading from the front and by example.

• Lifelong learner who furthers diversity of thought in their approach to management
• Willingness to learn eCommerce and/or fulfillment operations and PDL business processes and interdependencies
• Driven to deliver results on time with high quality

Required Skills:

• 5+ years' experience in eCommerce business systems OR 5+ years Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, Transportation
• 5+ years SRE or DevOps role
• 5+ years Scrum Agile methodology
• Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions that are easily maintainable, understandable, and diagnosable
• Able to write clear and consumable documentation
• Track record of building and running high-performance teams
• Extensive experience leading customer facing systems in a high uptime 24/7 environment
• Expertise analyzing complex application, database, network, and OS issues across a distributed large scale customer facing system
• System configuration management experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Salt
• Advanced experience with programming and/or scripting languages (Python, Java, bash)
• Experience with DevOps tools, processes, and culture
• High-level technical understanding (development methodologies, phases, etc)
• Proven track record in working collaboratively across functional areas to get results
• Interact effectively with representatives from Technology and Business Partners

Required Skills : Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools): Cloud azure preference, not a hard requirement but will need to learn and come up to speed on Kubernetes deploying apps on virtual machines strong plus Java ok with version 8+ (17+ preferred), actual java application development experience and not just support, experience with end-to-end java application development, knowing where they can jump in and dive and in during incidents Go getter enthusiastic attitude, cant be passive Observability tools: Data dog (preferred)/splunk/new relic Automation tools argo cd preference Kafka streaming strong strong plus, said it was core to everything, lets consider this must have to start, has had issues with sres not knowing how to resolve problems in kafka, have to bring in devs and slows things down What will win: azure Datadog Automation argo CD Ecommrce app exp Order management exp
