Responsibilities:

The Physical Therapist Assistant student provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed
Physical Therapist and/or Physical Therapist Assistant.
  1. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student will follow all Powerback Rehabilitation policy and
procedures outlined in the on-boarding and orientation process.
  1. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of
rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, and
timely documentation of services with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.
  1. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student attends and contributes to patient care, staffing
conferences and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the
direction of the physical therapist and/or Clinical Instructor.
  1. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student works with other members of the rehabilitation team to
implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient with
supervision from the Clinical Instructor.
  1. The Physical Therapist Assistant Student instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist and/or Clinical Instructor.
  2. Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated with supervision from the Clinical Instructor.
  3. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary with
supervision from the Clinical Instructor.
  1. Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights with
supervision from the Clinical Instructor.
  1. Implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist with supervision from the Clinical Instructor.
  2. With the supervision of their Clinical Instructor, Physical Therapist Assistant student may provide individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to:
  1. Therapeutic exercise including aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination,
agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and
locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and
endurance training
  1. Functional training
  2. Manual therapy Airway clearance techniques
  3. Integumentary repair and protection
  4. Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalities
  1. With the supervision of their Clinical Instructor, the Physical Therapist Assistant student will
organize and facilitate treatment utilizing the most appropriate mode of delivery with the physical

therapist.
