Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, Worldwide Amazon Stores People Experience Technology (PXT) Analytics
This position is based in New York, New York.
The Amazon Stores People Experience Technology (PXT) Analytics Team owns and creates the data modeling, reporting, and analytics necessary to support the HR function of Talent Management.
You transform large-scale datasets to build comprehensive data visualizations and analyses which measure the organizational design, employment lifecycle (including promotions, retention, and transfers), organizational effectiveness, and employment experience of the Amazon Stores Organization.
You leverage our global employee data to provision Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive, and Prescriptive Analytics for the PXT Talent Management (TM) organization and their partners in PXT and Amazon Stores. You stay up-to-date and experiment with GenAI/LLM applications which make data more useful.You guide stakeholders through the different transformational stages of data analytics, reporting, and program implementation to deliver deep learnings, process improvements, and strategic recommendations through employee data.
Key job responsibilities
The Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) in PXT Analytics is passionate about using data to drive critical business decisions. You build the analytic technologies to give our internal customers flexible and structured access to data that is timely, accurate, and actionable.You work collaboratively with your peers and mentor more junior team members to ensure robust, reusable solution design.
Basic qualifications- 5+ years of SQL experience
- 5+ years experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- 5+ years experience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar tools
- Experience in scripting (e.g. Python) for large-scale, automated delivery of information.
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between available data and business needs
- Experience managing relationships with and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience with QuickSight
- Experience with AWS RedShift
- Experience managing and securing AWS services
- Experience with custom Python-based, AWS-hosted applications used in information delivery

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Amazon is a total compensation company.
