Legal Assistant

Reputable intellectual property firm is seeking a Legal Assistant for their Walnut Creek locatoin. This role involves supporting attorneys in their practice, with a focus on intellectual property. The successful candidate will be trained in the administrative operational aspects of the United States Patent and Trademark Office and will be involved in patent/trademark prosecution and related projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in their practice, focusing on intellectual property matters
• Participate in the training process to understand the administrative operational aspects of the United States Patent and Trademark Office
• Work on patent/trademark prosecution and related projects
• Provide administrative support as needed
• Work independently and within the framework of assigned attorneys
• Use Case Management Software for efficient workflow
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suites for various tasks
• Manage calendars for attorneys
• Proofread documents to ensure accuracy
• Work on special projects as assigned.
• Proficiency in Case Management Software to effectively manage and track case details
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suites to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
• Experience with Calendar Management to organize and schedule appointments
• Knowledge of Patent Prosecution to manage patent applications
• Excellent Proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all legal documents
• Familiarity with Intellectual Property laws and regulations to assist in case preparation and research.
