Our cloud engineering team is tasked with bringing the best data streaming platform to the cloud. Composed of skilled engineers, our mission is to create and maintain an expanding fleet of customer clusters. We are seeking an experienced engineering manager to head a dedicated team of cloud engineers.

Your Responsibilities:
- Guide a distributed engineering team.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and product management to determine and implement the company's technological vision and strategy.
- Empower the team and foster a sense of ownership and belonging.
- Offer consistent, constructive feedback to support your team's personal development.
- Establish an environment where decision-making is collaborative and aligned with company objectives.
- Lead recruiting and onboarding processes for the team.
- Participate in regular performance evaluations.
- Act as a mentor, focusing on personal and career growth of team members.
- Elevate significant or systemic challenges to upper management.
- Discuss strategic topics with peers and directors to influence the engineering environment.
- Oversee project execution and monitor progress, assessing and mitigating risks as necessary.
- Provide structured career development advice to team members.
What We Look For:
- Experience leading cloud engineering teams.
- Proven track record of devising a strategy and roadmap for teams.
- An entrepreneurial approach, treating each team as its own unique entity.
- 7+ years of experience in software development and delivery.
- 3+ years of experience managing software developers.
- Past experience growing a team to 15 individuals.
- Reasonable proficiency with Go and Kubernetes, capable of reviewing pull requests and contributing to non-critical areas.
- Comfortable collaborating with a fully distributed engineering team using tools like GitHub.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
It would be great if you have:
- Familiarity with cloud SaaS product development and its challenges.
- Operational experience in managing a SaaS product.
- Experience in managing remote teams.
