Jersey City - School Nurse Practitioner - NJSCHRN

• Stipend: Total stipend of $135,000 annually
• Qualifications:

1. Registered Nurse (RN) with Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification
2. Proven experience in pediatric or adolescent health care
3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and CPR certification
4. Successful completion of background checks and proof of U.S. legal work status

• Performance Responsibilities:
• Provides direct healthcare services to students, including diagnosing and treating minor illnesses and injuries
• Works closely with students, parents, and staff to promote healthy lifestyle choices and wellness
• Reviews and updates individual health plans for students with medical conditions
• Performs annual screenings for vision, hearing, and scoliosis, documenting results in student health records
• Responds to medical emergencies, providing treatment as required and coordinating with emergency services when necessary
• Acts as a resource for school administrators and teachers on medical matters, including handling outbreaks of illness
• Ensures students meet all health requirements for school entry, including vaccinations and medical exams

Collaborates with external healthcare providers to facilitate continuity of care for students with complex health needs
