Job Responsibilities
Supervise chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to maintain kitchen efficiency and quality standards.Demonstrate and teach new cooking techniques and equipment use to kitchen staff, fostering skill development.
Prepare and cook complete meals, including pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables, and meat, poultry, and fish dishes. Create decorative food displays for special events.
Provide guidance and instructions to cooks on food preparation, cooking techniques, garnishing, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
Develop new recipes and contribute to menu planning, including requisitioning food and kitchen supplies.
Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed, ensuring adherence to quality and taste standards.
Manage inventory by requisitioning food and kitchen supplies and maintaining relationships with vendors.
Supervise and oversee kitchen staff, offering training and support to maintain kitchen standards.
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment and optimize kitchen workflows.
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the kitchen.
Control food costs by minimizing waste, optimizing portion sizes, and managing inventory effectively.
Contribute to menu development by suggesting new dishes and conducting tastings.
Foster clear communication within the kitchen team to enhance collaboration and efficiency.
Implement sustainable practices in the kitchen, such as sourcing locally and reducing food waste.
Job Requirements
Completion of Secondary School.- 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation or completion of education in cooking/culinary.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proficient in preparing and cooking a variety of meals.Strong organizational and inventory management skills, including experience in menu planning.
Passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences and exceeding customer expectations.
