Contracts Manager, Protective Services Business Operations

Come be a part of Amazon’s Protective Services (PS) organization on the Business Operations (BizOps) team! We are looking for a smart and motivated individual to provide contract management, project management, and security review support to PS teams.

As a Contracts Program Manager, you will be a key member of our team, partnering with other program managers within BizOps, helping us support PS team members around the world to create and maintain bar raising services that protect Amazonians.

Our ideal candidate will have experience managing contracts through Amazon’s legal process, strong ability to earn trust and build partnerships with team members, and drive process improvements within the contracts management scope. A core part of the role demonstrates an ability to think critically and prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment that requires significant attention to detail.
A successful candidate will possess the ability to complete high volumes of complex tasks and projects quickly with autonomy, support multiple internal customers, and efficiently and creatively solve difficult or complex problems that affect people within the group or other related teams.

A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is essential. Key job responsibilities

This person’s responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contract agreements and security reviews; managing paperwork and legal processes, including advising vendors, PS, finance, and other internal stakeholders on contractual terms; managing complex projects for the PS BizOps team through the right management systems; and document writing and other tasks needed to support the business and legal teams.

The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and a high attention to detail as this position involves direct contact with principal business owners and legal/finance business partners.

The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged.

About the team

The role is part of the PS BizOps team who supports a large and growing team of security and legal professionals who represent Amazon's Protective Services businesses that span locations in all areas of the globe. Our mission is to support our teams as effectively and efficiently as possible, foster an inclusive culture, grow and develop our people, recognize everyone's contributions, and have fun together.- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of contracts management, paralegal, or other comparable experience within a law firm or corporate legal department.- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
  • Experience with security organizations and contractor management
  • Demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks of varying duration and complexity
  • Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating the legal terms of a broad range of standard commercial contracts
  • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical and computer skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
