Senior Accountant
Overview:
**Hybrid Remote Opportunity - Candidates located in or near Northern Virginia greatly preferred. Must be willing to work on-site in ePlus' Herndon, Virginia headquarters office two to three times per month.**
As a Senior Accountant with the Technology Accounting Department, you will perform general ledger journal entries related to real estate leases, overhead expense accruals, intercompany allocation, FX revaluations, reconciliations, analysis and research, identity and resolve issues, and complete documentation and reporting.
Responsibilities:
YOUR IMPACT
The essential functions of this position include:
- Prepare and review monthly/quarterly journal entries
- Reconcile and analyze multiple complex general ledger accounts
- Prepare quarterly footnotes related to real estate leases balance sheet and expense accounts
- Prepare quarterly G&A expenses trend chart
- Independently identify and resolve issues as they occur
- Assist with the preparation of internal and external reports, consolidated Financial Statements
- Update documentation of internal controls and accounting processes
- Interface with, and provide information to, internal and external auditors
- Stay current on emerging technical issues, in particular those that impact ePlus
- Perform other duties, as requested, in order to meet department goals and objectives
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent experience
- CPA certification preferred but not required
- 4+ years of experience in the GL (general ledger) Accounting
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. - VLOOKUP, IF, SUMIF, MAXIF, LEN formulas)
- Experience with a public accounting firm or mid to large sized corporate experience
- Experience with Great Plains software preferred but not required
- A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work alone on various analytical issues and form independent conclusions
- Adaptable to different computer environments
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Prepared to put in additional hours, as required, to complete tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
POSITION SPECIFICS
The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $100,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered.
